INTERNATIONAL ARRIVAL BY AIR
There is currently one main international airport in Nepal - The Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in the capital city Kathmandu.

Note: A new international airport will be opening in 2023 at our race base city of Pokhara. The new international airport at Pokhara will have connecting flights to India, Dubai, Qatar and China.
Entry to Nepal
VISAS
Travellers from almost every country are allowed to obtain a Visa-On-Arrival on entry to Nepal.
It is highly recommended to fill out the form here before travelling to speed up the process on arrival.
It is also possible to complete the visa application on arrival using touch screen machines.
The Visa-On-Arrival costs:
$30 (or the euro equivalent) for up to 15 Days
$50 (or the euro equivalent) for up to 30 Days
$125 (of the euro equivalent) for up to 90 Days
Payment MUST BE MADE IN CASH at the Visa Desk in the Immigration Hall on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. You will be given a receipt, which you then take to Passport Control and Immigration, where you will receive a visa stamp in your passport.
COVID
People who have completed COVID-19 vaccination at least 14 days prior to entry to Nepal can get visas on arrival (you should bring proof of vaccination). There is no requirement to obtain a Covid test prior to travel for those vaccinated. There is no requirement to test on arrival, and there is no quarantine period.
Non-vaccinated people can also obtain visas on arrival, but – if unvaccinated, and aged over five years old – must be able to show a negative PCR test completed no more than 72 hours before the flight of first departure. Requirements are updated by Nepal’s Department of Immigration, sometimes at short notice.

Health Insurance
It is highly recommended to obtain comprehensive health insurance before travelling to Nepal. There are a number of private clinics and hospitals that can serve foreign travellers well if necessary. The Race Organisation can recommend our medical partner CIWEC HOSPITAL & TRAVEL MEDICINE CENTRE.
